Gary Lyle Ellis, age 81, a resident of Jamesport, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Wright Memorial Hospital, Trenton, Missouri.
Gary was born the son of Ray and Lura (Powell) Ellis on February 18, 1940, in Melbourne, Missouri. He served in the United States Army. Gary was united in marriage to Carol Sue Francis on May 24, 1963, in Coffey, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2015. He owned and operated Ellis Antiques for over 50 years. Gary and his wife, Carol, were founding member of the Jamesport Community Association.
Survivors include one son, David Ellis and wife Mandy of Jamesport, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kristi Krumme and husband Jon of Chillicothe, Missouri, Megan Ellis and Jack Persons of San Francisco, California, Colton Ellis and wife Hannah of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, and Dane Wisner of Chillicothe, Missouri; two great grandsons; two brothers, Tom Ellis and wife Ann of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Howard Ellis of Gilman City, Missouri; one sister, LaRae Read of Bethany, Missouri; and his dog, Annie. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; and one daughter, Shelly Ellis.
His body was donated to science. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Green Hills Animal Shelter of Trenton and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
