Freeda "Sharlene" Scott Powell, age 82 a resident of White Bear Lake, Minnesota formerly of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away on Saturday May 10, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side. Sharlene was born the daughter of Fred and Georgia (Mayhugh) Scott on September 10, 1931 in Chillicothe, Missouri. Sharlene was a 1949 Graduate of Chillicothe High School. She was united in marriage to Wesley Powell on November 11, 1951 in Chillicothe, Missouri. Sharlene worked as a data processor for Montgomery Ward for 18 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading motorcycling, motor-homeing, and wintering in Arizona. Suvivors include her husband Wesley Powell of the home; two sons Michael Powell and wife Leann of White Bear Lake Minnesota and Bruce Powell of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; one daughter Teri Cinis and husband Maris of White Bear Lake, Minnesota. She is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Wanda Willard. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home Chillicothe, Missouri from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Friday, May 16, 2014. Burial will be a Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made the North Missouri Center for Youth and Families and may be left at or Mailed to Lindley Funeral Home P.O. Box 47 Chillicothe, Missouri 64601. A fellowship gathering for family and friends will be held at the Econo Lodge banquet room following the graveside service. Online condolences may be made at www.lindleyfhuneralhome.com .
