Frederick Andrew Young, age 80, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at his residence.
Fred was born the son of Forrest Andrew and Marjorie Lena (Jones) Young on May 8, 1944, in Douglas, Arizona. He attended Trenton Junior College, Trenton, Missouri. On June 6, 1965, he was united in marriage to Janice at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home.
Fred was a self-employed farmer. He had dairy cows, beef cattle, hogs and row crop over the years. Farming had been his passion for over 70 years. He was put on his first tractor at 8 years old. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Fred had a great interest in farming, and enjoyed watching westerns.
Survivors include his wife Janice, of the home; one son, Jeff Young and wife Melissa of Chillicothe, Missouri; three grandsons, Connor Young and wife Devan of Waverly, Pennsylvania, Clayton Young of St. Louis, Missouri and Max Anderson of Chillicothe, Missouri; two granddaughters, Madeline Holliman and husband Troyce of Kansas City, Missouri and Carley Anderson of Kansas City, Missouri; three great grandchildren, Mason Young, Violet Young and Hendrix Holliman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Marjorie Young; and one sister, Sharon Lamp.
Funeral Services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, August 5, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 12:00 noon until service time of 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest O. Triplett Animal Shelter and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
