Fred Leroy Sweany
Fred Leroy Sweany, age 80, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at his residence.
Fred was born the son of Roy and Opal (Brown) Sweany, on September 21, 1938. He was a 1956 graduate of Central High School, St. Joseph, Missouri. Fred started out his career at Mode O'Day in downtown Kansas City. Fred worked as a General Manager for General Savings and Loans for over 20 years. He also worked as the Daviess County assessor and as security for Lake Viking, Gallatin, Missouri. Fred was united in marriage to Jane E. Litton Gaunt on June 17, 1982, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. Fred and Jane owned and operated the School Days Antique Shop in Lock Springs, Missouri. He was also a member of the Western Star No. 15 AF&AM Masonic Lodge, Winston, Missouri. Fred was a member of the Church of Christ, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Survivors include his wife, Jane E. Sweany; three sons, Mark and wife Margo Sweany of Lenexa, Kansas, Charles of Leavenworth, Kansas, Darrin Sweany and wife Michelle of Olathe, Kansas ; one daughter, Cindy and husband Andre De Almeida of Overland, Kansas; one stepson, Kyle and wife Myra Gaunt of Lock Springs, Missouri; one stepdaughter, Rhonda Tedrick and husband Ted of Chula, Missouri; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; and several nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward Eugene Sweany.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. A masonic service will be held at 5:30 p.m., followed by a scheduled visitation at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
