Fred Kerr, age 85, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Indian Hills Retirement Village in Chillicothe, Missouri. Fred was born the son of James W.P. and Cornelia (Tolley) Kerr on February 20, 1926 in Staunton, Illinois. He was a graduate of Knoxville High School of Knoxville, Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois and received his Bachelor's Degree in agriculture. On June 17, 1950 he was united in marriage to Velma Ackerman in Morton, Illinois. She survives of the home. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 until 1953. In 1960, they moved to Chula, Missouri and began farming in Missouri. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was also a member of the Gideon's International and the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. He was a past board member of the House of Prayer and of the Chula Farmer's Co op. He is survived by his wife, Velma of the home; three sons, Thomas Kerr and wife Marsha of Chula, Missouri, John Kerr of Humble, Texas, and David Kerr and wife Brenda of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Judith Phillips and husband Christopher of St. Louis, Missouri; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one brother, James; a half sister, Dorothy; one daughter, Linda; and one son, Frank. Services will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. A family visitation will be on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call the Lindley Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held in May Cemetery, Chula, Missouri. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon's International or to the House of Prayer Rescue Mission of Chillicothe, Missouri and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
