Fred Marvin Hinnen, 85, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, died peacefully on October 16, 2011, at his home in Chillicothe under Hospice care with his loving family by his side. Marvin was born November 25, 1925, in Chula, Missouri, the son of Fred and Anna (White) Hinnen. He lived in the Chula community on the family farm and farmed all of his life until November of 1994. At that time, he retired and moved to Chillicothe. He also was employed by the Medicine Township as a maintainer operator for several years. He served on the board of the Chula Farmers Co-op and was a member of the Livingston County Steam and Gas Association for several years. He attended the Highview Baptist Church in Chillicothe. He and his first wife Velma (Searcy) Hinnen were married in 1945. From this marriage, three children were born; John, Charlotte, and Carol. In May of 2004, he married Lois Schreiner of Browning, Missouri. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his son John Hinnen and wife Marie of Chillicothe, Missouri; his daughter, Charlotte Mammen and husband Jack of Chillicothe, Missouri; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; 3 step children, 11 step grandchildren, and 9 step great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Stith and husband Delbert, and Maxine Drake; and one brother, Lawrence Hinnen and wife Dorothy, all of Chula, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife, Velma, and his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his daughter Carol Warren; two sisters, Doris Long and Helen Reid; three brothers-in-law, Harry Long, Bill Reid, and Harold Drake; one nephew, Loyd Drake; and one step daughter Pam Crook. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be a family visitation on Monday, October 17, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call the funeral home on Monday from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
