Franklin Everette Mcelwee Sr

Franklin Everette McElwee Sr. Franklin Everette McElwee Sr., a resident of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Parkside Manor, Columbia, Missouri. Franklin was born the son of Frank Thomas and Lula Mae (Davis) McElwee on February 28, 1934, in Braymer, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Mary Louise Prewitt on July 13, 1956, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on September 10, 2002. Franklin served in the United States Army from 1956 until 1958. He worked in construction with heavy equipment most of his life. He then worked as a truck driver for Waller Trucking before retirement. Survivors include two sons, Franklin McElwee Jr. and wife Debra, of Slater, Missouri; Jerry McElwee and wife Joann, of Blackwater, Missouri; three daughters Mary Lou Gilson and husband David, of Hale, Missouri; Diane Oden and husband Barry, of Eldon, Missouri; Donna Purdy and husband Doug, of Eldon, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Mary. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, July 22, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Black Oak Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri.
