Franklin D. Booth, age 79, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012, at his residence in Chillicothe, Missouri. Franklin was born in Mercer County, Missouri, on November 8, 1932, the son of Byron and Winnie Avis (Harper) Booth. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1954 to 1956. On November 12, 1973, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Gardner in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. Franklin was a lifelong resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, and worked as a waste water operator for the city. He was a member Soul's Harbor Church of God and Vern R. Glick Post 25 of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home; two sons, Bryon Booth and Mark Booth; four daughters, Cheryl Booth, Karen Booth, Betty Ann Nading, Sharon Buckner of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Beverly Thomas of Chillicothe, Missouri; step-son, Raymond Harding and wife Bonnie of Chillicothe, Missouri; three brothers, Jim Booth of Trenton, Lawrence Booth of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Harold Booth of Trenton; a sister, Hazel Tharp of Breckenridge, Missouri; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Doyle Booth, Clifford Booth and Darold Booth; and three sisters, Lucille Rosson, Margaret Barnett, and Juanita Lugenbill. Funeral services will be held at Soul's Harbor Church of God, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Family visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on May 15, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Soul's Harbor Church of God and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
