Franklin Edward Bonderer Franklin Edward Bonderer, age 80, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013, at his residence. Franklin was born the son of Francis (Frank) Eugene and Mary (Culling) Bonderer on December 8, 1932, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Chillicothe, Missouri. Franklin joined the National Guard in 1951. In March of 1954 he was drafted from the National Guard into the Army. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Mary Katherine Thompson on November 12, 1966, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked as a Rural Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service for 30 years. Franklin was a member of the St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, and also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1084 3rd degree. Franklin served as the former Commander of the Chillicothe American Legion Vern R. Glick Post #25. He was quick to volunteer to help with community projects, such as building the Knights of Columbus Hall. Franklin had a passion for the farm on which he worked all his life. He enjoyed hunting, golf, and playing baseball for the Chula Sox. Survivors include his wife, Mary Katherine of the home; two sons, Chris Bonderer and wife Janet of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Jim Bonderer and wife Angie of Chillicothe, Missouri; two daughters, Kathy Baxter and husband Shane of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Debbie Jackson and husband Sean of Troy, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Walt Bonderer of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Brother Blaise (George) Bonderer of Conception Abbey, Conception, Missouri; and two sisters, Virginia Wilson of Pueblo, Colorado, and Rachel Coburn of Chillicothe, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Maurice, Bernard, Al, John and David Bonderer; and two sisters, Catherine Garr and Helen Wilson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at the St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on, Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. with a family visitation to follow until 8:30 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and at the St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at St. Columban's Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Columban's Catholic Church Roof Fund and/or the Verelle Peniston State School PTO Fund and/or Children's Mercy Hospital and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
