Frank Joseph Ockenfels, Jr., age 86, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Frank was born the son of Frank Sr. and Teresa (Ihle) Ockenfels on December 12, 1933, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was a 1951 graduate of St. Boniface High School, Ft. Smith Arkansas. He served in the United States Army from 1957 until 1959. Frank was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Dowell on April 23, 1962, at the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. He was employed with Dowell Construction for over 40 years. He then worked as a self-employed carpenter and painter. He was a member of the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ockenfels, of the home; two sons, Michael Ockenfels and wife Tracy of Kirksville, Missouri, and David Ockenfels and Angie of St. Joseph, Missouri; three grandchildren, Aaron Ockenfels and wife Kelsey, Alexander Ockenfels, and Tanner Ockenfels and wife Shelby; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Ockenfels; and uncle and aunt, Paul and Anna Edelman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, October 9, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. with visitation to follow. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, October 8, 2020, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the St. Columban Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Columban Catholic Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
