Francis Koehly

Francis Koehly Francis Koehly, age 95, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Francis was born the son of August and Mary (Muck) Koehly on September 23, 1922, in Livingston County, Missouri. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, from 1944 until 1946. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Louis Ireland on December 4, 1943, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2008. Francis worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Chillicothe, Missouri, for 28 years. He also worked for Maytag Appliances and Service for many years. He was a member of the St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1084, the Vern R. Glick American Legion Post #25, and the Roy L. Burkett VFW Post #858. Francis loved playing golf, and was a member of the Green Hills Golf Club. Survivors include two sons, Gary Lynn Koehly and wife Connie of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Bary Ray Koehly of Windyville, Missouri; four grandchildren, Randy Koehly of Des Moines, Iowa, Paula Koehly of Bolivar, Missouri, Gary Lynn Koehly, Jr. and wife Candace of Sarasota Springs, Utah, and Terah Washam and husband Steve of Hallsville, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Brooke and Zachary Koehly of Sarasota Springs, Utah, and Eli, Christian, Liam, and Malakai Washam all of Hallsville, Missouri; and one sister-in-law, Lois Koehly of Chillicothe, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; four brothers, Edwin, Joe, Bill, and Eugene Koehly; and three sisters, Josephine Koehly, Lucille Faubion, and Anna Ruth Hall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, January 19, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at St. Columban's Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
