Frances Maxine Phares, age 89, resident of Mooresville, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 12, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri. Frances was born March 2, 1922, the daughter of Stanley Bishop and Louise Estelle (Ward) Catron in Breckenridge, Missouri. On October 17, 1941 she married Vance Phares in North Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1993. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1939. She was a member of Breckenridge Order of Eastern Star United Methodist Church in Mooresville, United Methodist Women, and Mooresville Study Club. She loved playing cards, fishing, playing bingo, cooking-especially brownies, needlework, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frances is survived by one son, Stephen Vance Phares and wife Carol of Breckenridge, Missouri; one daughter, Darlene Hamblin and husband Richard of Raymore, Missouri; five grandchildren, Michael Hamblin, Michele Pitts, Aaron, Blake, and Lindsey Phares; four great-grandchildren, Zach and Grant Hamblin, Abby and Kyle Pitts; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Bernice McNew and Marjorie Curnow, and one brother, Clifford Edwin Catron. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri at 10:00 a.m. A family visitation will be on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Friends may call the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery in Breckenridge, Missouri.
