Frances Ann Ireland
Frances Ann Ireland, age 87, a lifelong resident of Dawn, Missouri, passed away at her son's residence Sunday, December 5, 2021.
Frances was born the daughter of Orville Claude and Eva May (Hughes) Cooper on January 24, 1934. She attended school in Ludlow, Missouri. On July 13, 1951, she married Sammie Junior Ireland in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2014.
Frances and Sammie were married for almost 63 years. In that time they built a wonderful family farm full of kids, grandkids and animals. Frances was a traditional farm wife as she could drive trucks, tractors, and provide a full course meal in the middle of the field to the farm crew. She taught sewing for the Liberty 4-H Club. She also was a member of the Ladies Extension. Crocheting and embroidering were two of her favorite hobbies.
Survivors include five children, Patricia Lynn Hoerr (Russel) of Hale, Missouri, Sammie Dale Ireland of Dawn, Missouri, Beverly Ann McCracken (Terry) of Tina, Missouri, Susan Joan Ireland (Jim Curran) of Marana, Arizona, and Thomas Junior Ireland (Cindy) of Dawn, Missouri; siblings, Betty Howe of Chillicothe, Missouri, Louann O'Neal (Bob), of Carrollton, Missouri, Debbie McElwee (Frankie) of Slater, Missouri, Doug Cooper (Pat) of Hale, Missouri, Nancy Gardener, of Kyle, Texas, and Mike Cooper, of Kyle, Texas; Step sisters, Jill Mireless (Roy) of Fulton, Missouri, Jackie Sensenich of Carrollton, Missouri, Jan Earp of Cameron, Missouri and Jenny Plaggemeyer of Warsaw, Missouri; brother-in-law, Donald Ireland (Betty) of Bosworth, Missouri; sister-in-law, Betty Sue Ireland of Bosworth, Missouri; 13 grandchildren, Samuel Ireland (Julie), Brian Ireland (Katie), Tami Goodhart-Ehart (R.W.), Forrest Goodhart, Allie Foltz (Rod), Ashley McCracken, Brandon McCracken, Colton Smith, Tia Smith, Jared Ireland (Whitney), Zachary Ireland (Morgan), Austin Ireland, and Brittany Shiflett (Cade); and 20 great-grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sammie; a daughter, Brenda Lea Ireland; step mother, Katie Cooper; brothers, Millard and Willard Cooper; half-brothers, Orville Cooper, Jr. and John Franklin Cooper; step brother, Jim Earp; great-grandson, Coy Edward Ireland; several brothers- in -law, sisters- in- law, aunts , uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 12:00 noon until 7:00 pm., and again on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
