Frances (Fran) Helen Machholz

Frances (Fran) Helen Machholz Frances Helen Machholz, age 94, a resident of Marshall, Missouri, formerly of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Mar-Saline Manor, Marshall, Missouri. Fran was born the daughter of Alva and Blanche (Carter) Rice on April 8, 1920, in Danville, Iowa. She was a 1938 graduate of Danville High School, Danville, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Lloyd E. Machholz on April 8, 1942, in Canton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1999. She worked for the Division of Family Services. She was a member of the Junior Sorosis from 1953 until 1972. Fran enjoyed reading and sewing. Fran also enjoyed going to her husband and sons baseball games where she was the official score keeper. She was fond of all her grand dogs and was always willing to watch them when her kids were out of town. She also enjoyed bird watching. Survivors include two sons, Richard J. Machholz and wife Sandy of Marshall, Missouri, and Gary L. Machholz and wife Robin of Lafayette, Colorado; one daughter, Patricia A. Anderson and husband Jim of Marshall, Missouri; three grandchildren, Mike Machholz, Drew Machholz, and Kyle Anderson; and one great grandchild, Bailey Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lloyd; one grandson, Andy Anderson; and one brother, Dwight Rice. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. A scheduled family visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
