Finis Ray "Fuz" Burnett, age 60, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011 at his residence in Chillicothe, Missouri. Fuz was born on April 9, 1951, the son of Clevis and Reve (Gastineau) Burnett in DeKalb County just outside of Cameron, Missouri. He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1969 and lived in the Chillicothe and Cameron areas all of his life. In 1973, he married Mary Miller in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked as a mechanic and opened up "Ray's Auto Body" in 1980 in Chillicothe, Missouri. He also raised cattle and farmed. He was a former member of the Chillicothe Eagles Aerie No. 2428 and a member of the SSMRA Mud Racing Association. He was also a member of the Christian Church. Fuz loved hunting, fishing, and watching his kids race mud trucks. He is also survived by one son, Clint Burnett and wife Misty of Meadville, Missouri; one daughter, Holly Thompson and husband Bill of Chillicothe, Missouri; four sisters, Helen Hahn and husband Marvin of Cameron, Missouri, Nancy Vernoy of Grants Pass, Oregon, Judy Manzano of San Antonio, Texas, and Naoma DeVaul and husband John of Kansas City, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Ethan and Ashton Burnett of Meadville, Missouri, and Joey and Tommy Thompson of Chillicothe, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Norman, Francis, and CJ Burnett; and four sisters, Virginia Scaver, Alice Adams, Phyllis Dice, and Shirley Adams. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. A family visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Cameron, Missouri.
