Fern Louise Whipkins

Fern Louise Whipkins, age 87, a resident of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri. Fern was born in Mendon, Missouri, on April 27, 1924, the daughter of Orville Lee and Nola May (Moscoe) Murray. On March 17, 1940, she was united in marriage to Glen R. Whipkins in Carrollton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2005. Survivors include her son "Mick" Whipkins and wife Nancy of Carrollton, Missouri; daughter Carol J. Statham and husband Fred of Buckner, Missouri; brothers Carl E. Murray and wife Rose of Kansas City, Missouri, Glen Murray and wife Diane of Highland, Utah; sister Mary E. Rhoades and husband Gene of Rayville Missouri; six grandchildren, Glen Ray Whipkins of Carrollton, Missouri, Mikki Sue Ford of Carrollton, Missouri, Julie Finley of Bonner Springs, Kansas, SaMyra Baker of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Marcy Whipkins of Warrensburg, Missouri, and Fred Statham II of Buckner, Missouri; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Carmeleta May Whipkins, six brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at Southside Baptist Church, Carrollton, Missouri, on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. A family visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.
