Felix Buckner

Felix Buckner, age 93, a resident of Wheeling, Missouri passed away at Indian Hills Nursing Home in Chillicothe, Missouri on Thursday, February 4, 2010. He was born on December 27, 1916 the son of Henry W. and Ina (Barnett) Buckner in Linn County, Missouri. He graduated from Chula High School, Chula, Missouri in 1934. He served in the United States Navy from 1944-1946 in World War II. On February 10, 1945 he married Helen Constant in Oakland, California. She survives of the home. Felix was a resident of Wheeling, Missouri since 1935 where he was a proud and successful farmer. He loved to play cards and work in his flower garden. Felix loved his family and was especially fond of his grandkids. He always looked forward to their visits. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Wayman and husband Gene of Blue Springs, Missouri, Pat Williams and husband Keith of Savannah, Missouri; six grandchildren, Melissa McKerlie of Kansas City, Missouri, Mike Hamer of Utica, Missouri, Jennifer Hamer of Blue Springs, Missouri, Scott E. Shannon, Todd Shannon, Emily Shannon, all of Chillicothe, Missouri; and one great grandchild, Hannah Hamer of Blue Springs, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and four sisters. Services will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri at 1:30 p.m. There will be a family visitation on Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wheeling Cemetery in Wheeling, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Livingston County Senior Center and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
