Evelyn Stewart

August 30, 1929 — February 3, 2014

Evelyn Stewart Evelyn Stewart 84 passed away on February 3, 2014 at North Kansas City Hospital while surrounded by family. "Evey" was born on August 30, 1929 in Brookfield, MO to Homer and Lydia (Muirheid) George. In 1945 the family moved to Bosworth, MO where she lived for most of her life. On August 31, 1952 at the family home in Bosworth, she married F. Merle Stewart, who preceded her in death in 2009. She had an outgoing personality, had the ability to put a smile on your face or most often make you laugh out loud. You never asked her what she thought unless you really wanted to know and sometimes you didn't even have to ask. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing cards, but most of all spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife and mother to two daughters, Vickie Stanley (Darrell) Sumner, MO and Debbie Keyte (Terry) Clinton, MO. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Tim Stanley of Sumner, MO, Kelly Stanley Hawkins of Hale, MO, Mike Stewart and Tracy Keyte of Clinton, MO and Tony Keyte (Kerri) of Pleasant Hill, IA. She also shared in the joy of eight great grandchildren, Jaxson, Korbin, Couper, Matthew, Lanie, Grace, Ben, and Matthew. She is survived by her sister Sue Shields of Bosworth, MO, her brother Eldon George and wife Carol of Lexington, MO and her sister-in-law Beverly George of Marceline, MO and 14 nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Richard and Robert, two sisters and their husbands Jean Burch (Wesley) and Francis Gordon (Howard) and her brother-in-law Sherman Shields. She will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Saint Jude's, or Wounded Warriors and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601. Online condolences may be made at www.lindleyfuneralhome.com . Arrangements are under the direction of Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.
