Evelyn Francis Snyder Evelyn Francis Snyder, age 96, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Evelyn was born on November 6, 1919 in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a graduate of Chillicothe High School and worked at various positions and management at Southwestern Bell for 35 years. In retirement Evelyn volunteered at Peter Pan and worked at several dress shops in town. She was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church and loved cooking and making dishes for friends and church members. She and Jim spent many years traveling, camping in their RV and going to see her grandchildren. She was known for her love of flowers inside and out, her green thumb, her love of all things beautiful, her style, and her constant smile. She has been a resident at Morningside Assisted Living for the past 6 years, and is well known for her care of all the flowers there and being a frequent high stakes Bingo winner. She was married to John Sallee and had two children, Daniel and David Sallee. In her retirement she married James D Snyder in 1984 at the United Methodist Church. They were married 24 years and he preceded her in death in 2007. She was one of 8 children and was preceded in death by her siblings Chris Jr, Donnie, Marie, Jo Ann, Frank, and Virgil Karst; her son Daniel Sallee; and daughter-in-law, Janice Marie Sallee. Survivors include her brother William Karst, her son David Sallee and her three grandchildren John David Sallee and his wife Liliana, Stephanie Treon and her husband Michael, and Jeffrey David Sallee and his wife Tara; great-grandchildren Jimena and Larissa Sallee and Cora and Anna Sallee; two nieces Mary Jane Carr and Janet Duke, one nephew Donnie Keester and many lifetime friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the United Methodist Church Christian Life Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, June 24, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church Christian Life Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, June 24, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, June 23, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Meadville Cemetery, Meadville, Missouri.
