Evelyn C. Lair, age 85, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday May 15, 2012, at Golden Age Nursing Home, Braymer, Missouri. Evelyn was born the daughter of Earl and Dessie (Whitworth) Gentry on February 11, 1927, in South Fork, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Art Lair on May 24, 1941. They were married for 51 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Breckenridge, Missouri. She was a mistress of ceremony at the State TOPS Convention. She collected angels, enjoyed gardening, baking, and decorating cakes. Survivors include one son, Calvin Lair of Gladstone, Missouri; three daughters, Brenda Kirk of Kansas City, Missouri, Kathy Bridgewater of Greenwood, Missouri, Lisa Still of Braymer, Missouri; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Art Lair; parents; two sisters, Dorothy Allen and Wilma Duncan; three brothers, Floyd Gentry, Othel Gentry, and Marion Gentry. Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Breckenridge, Missouri on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. A family visitation will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Breckenridge, Missouri from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at the Pitts Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Missouri on Thursday May 17, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery Breckenridge, Missouri.
