Ernie Dale Denton Ernie Dale Denton, age 62, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017, at the Kansas City VA Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri. Ernie was born the son of Ernie and Shauneen Ann (Simpson) Denton on November 20, 1954, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1973 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1973 until 1975. Ernie worked as a truck driver for Ambassador Steel in Kansas City, Missouri, for many years. He also worked as a livestock farmer and loved working with cattle and sheep. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Ernie loved guns, and was an avid gun collector and amateur gunsmith. He also loved dogs, especially his black lab, Maggie. Survivors include his parents, Ernie and Shauneen Denton of Chillicothe, Missouri; children, Travis Carl Denton and wife Gillian, Holly Nicole Denton, and Charity Jennifer Denton all of England, Matthew Caleb Denton and Jacob Ethan Denton both of Chillicothe, Missouri; five grandchildren, Noah, Ned, Charley James, Lawrence, and Autumn Denton all of England; loving soulmate, Barbara Logan of Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister, Ronda Gayle Hapes and husband Bill of Chillicothe, Missouri; one brother, Dennis Neil Denton of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Odell and Lillie Denton, and Pearl Robert and Mary Louise Simpson. Graveside services will be held at the Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, June 12, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, June 12, 2017, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City VA Hospital and/or the Calvary Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
