Emma Jean Jones

Emma J. Jones, age 86, resident of Chillicothe passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Hedrick Medical Center. Emma was born December 23, 1923, in Gilman City, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Nellie (Ashcroft) Chaney. She was a graduate of the LPN Program at North Central Missouri College. On December 5, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Verle Jones. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1995. She was a member of the Chillicothe Campers Club. Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Hembrey of Parkville, Missouri, Helen Calvert of Kansas City, Missouri, and Roberta "Bert" Benson and husband Bob of Omaha, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Launita Carroll of Topeka, Kansas, Jason Hembrey of Topeka, Kansas, Christie Meservey and husband Steve of Chula, Missouri, Joe Benson of Omaha, Nebraska, and Kelley Benson-Gettman and husband Robb of Lincoln, Nebraska; and three great grandchildren, Joshua and Noah Meservey of Chula, Missouri, and Ben Gettman of Lincoln, Nebraska. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters Naoma Ewing and Esther Clodfelter, and brother Chester Clodfelter. Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, December 10, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. A family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9 at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Burial will be held in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
