Emma Marie (Dayton) Ponclet Emma Marie Ponclet, age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Emma was born the daughter of Charles Rufus and Edna Melissa (Gay) Dayton on November 5, 1921, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Francis Harold Ponclet on January 1, 1950, at the First Christian Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1984. Emma was one of twelve children and as a young woman she loved learning new dances. Emma also enjoyed playing the piano, reading and she collected cat figurines. She loved music and singing. Survivors include one brother, Russell Dayton of Overland Park, Kansas; friend, Rosaline Williams of Chillicothe, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis; four brothers, Ed, Glenn, Charlie and Lawrence Dayton; and six sisters, Nigel Seidel, Millie Dayton, Nora Shearer, Garnet Whitaker, Elsie Hall, and Mary Crookshanks. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe. A scheduled family visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Friends may call on Monday, January 11, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri.
