Ellis W. Rawlins Ellis Rawlins, age 91, a resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014, at University of Missouri Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. Ellis was born the son of Arthur and Gladys (Huffmon) Rawlins on April 10, 1923 in Hale, Missouri. He was a 1941 graduate of Hale High School, Hale, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Walz on September 1, 1946, in Utica, Missouri. Ellis worked as a farmer and also USDA Inspector. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Hale, Missouri, and the Hale Lions Club. Survivors include wife Carolyn Rawlins of the home; two sons, Eldon Rawlins of Westminster, Colorado, and Edwin Rawlins wife Debbie of Lee's Summit, Missouri; two daughters Brenda Gilson of Independence, Missouri, and Randa Rawlins and husband Blaine of Columbia, Missouri; two grandchildren, Darla Weekley and husband Roy of Oak Grove, Missouri, and Aaron Rawlins and wife Madi of Longmont, Colorado; and three great grandchildren, Brock Weekley of Oak Grove, Missouri, and Morgan Rawlins and Hayley Rawlins both of Longmont, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Doug. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church, Hale, Missouri, on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. A family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Monday, July 28, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Monday, July 28, 2014, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Utica Cemetery, Utica, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hale United Methodist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
