Elliot Jacob "Jake" Meyer Jake Meyer, age 93, a resident of Franklin, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center, Leavenworth, Kansas. Jake was born the son of Andy and Cecil (Griffith) Meyer on January 26, 1920, in Buffalo Prairie, Missouri. He was a 1938 graduate of Glasgow High School, Glasgow, Missouri. He served in the United States Army during World War II, where he received a Purple Heart. Jake enjoyed trail riding. He was a Charter Member of the Boonville Boot and Saddle Club. Survivors include two sons, Bob Meyer and wife Sally of Franklin, Missouri, and Andy Meyer and wife Susan of St. Joseph, Missouri; four grandchildren, Shelley Meyer-Williams, J.J. Meyer, Katie Meyer, and Kelly Meyer; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Elliot Meyer, Jr.; and two brothers, Eddie Meyer and Freddie Meyer. A Memorial Service will be held at the Boonsboro Christian Church, Boonsboro, Missouri, on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and/or the Coyote Hill Christian Children's Home Equine Program and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
