Elizabeth (DeBolt) Barnhart
Elizabeth Barnhart, age 100, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021, at Indian Hills - A Stonebridge Community.
Elizabeth was born the daughter of Elva and Ruth (Shaeffer) DeBolt on February 28, 1920, in Hale, Missouri. She was a 1938 graduate of Hale High School in Hale, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Howard Barnhart on May 15, 1938, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1995. Elizabeth was a homemaker, loving and caring for her family. She was a longtime member and deaconess of the First Christian Church, Chillicothe, a lifetime member of Grand River Historical Society and Hedrick Medical Center Auxiliary. She was a member of the Olive Prindle Chapter of DAR, and Junior Sorosis. Elizabeth loved playing golf, bridge, and spending time with friends and family. She greatly enjoyed supporting and watching sports, especially the Hornets. Elizabeth was a loving and serving, Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend.
Survivors include one son, Tom Barnhart and wife Janet of Chillicothe, Missouri; four daughters, Jaci Hall and husband Bill of Cameron, Missouri, Jonne Parrish and husband Jerry of Chillicothe, Missouri, Helen Ann VanLandingham of Gladstone, Missouri, and Pamela Garnett and husband Jim of Kansas City, Missouri; ten grandchildren; and twenty-six great grandchildren; and fourteen great-great grandchildren; sisters, Freda Wescott of Gladstone, Missouri, and Joann Newport of La Cygne, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Howard; two brothers, Willard F. and Hugh DeBolt; and five sisters, Rosalie Huff, Dorothy Kemp, Lois Adams, Shirley Auer and Jerrie Baggs.
A Private Memorial service will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, January 29, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call on Thursday, January 28, 2021, from noon to 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.
