Eldon M. Christy, age 75, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021, at Cameron Regional Medical Center, Cameron, Missouri.
Eldon was born the son of Jay Leon and Dorothy (Linhart) Christy on December 5, 1945, in Browning, Missouri. He was a 1963 graduate of Browning High School, Browning, Missouri. Eldon served in the United States Army from 1963 until 1965 during the Vietnam War. He worked as the night supervisor for the Grand River Area Family YMCA for over 21 years, and also delivered the Kansas City Star in the Chillicothe, Meadville, Wheeling, and Chula areas. Eldon enjoyed playing pool, watching NASCAR on TV, and had a collection of over 400 NASCAR Cars.
Survivors include his daughter, Teya Christy and significant other Jared Perkins of Jamesport, Missouri; one stepson, Gary Ervie and wife Betty of Laclede, Missouri; one stepdaughter, Tammy Allen and husband Steve of Jamesport, Missouri; six grandchildren, Kiera Huskey, Hunter Reeter, Adelyn Kanniainen, Samantha Manning, Tristian Greer, Brianna Allen; two great grandchildren, Bella Manning and Autumn Manning; two brothers, Marvin Christy and wife Mary of Cassville, Missouri, and Roy Christy of Kansas City, Kansas; three sisters, Evelyn Graham of Trenton, Missouri, Frances Nichols and husband Kenny Ray of Browning, Missouri, and Carol Bennett and Husband Charles of Rayville, Missouri; sister-in-law, Karolee Christy of Chillicothe, Missouri; and significant other, Lisa Gillilan of Chillicothe, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Clinton Christy.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, February 26, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, February 25, 2021, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand River Area Family YMCA and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
