Elaine Morris, age 85, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at her residence peacefully surrounded by her family.
Elaine was born the daughter of L.P. and Dorothy (Litton) Cox on July 22, 1936, in Livingston County, Missouri. She was a 1954 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She was united in marriage to Ora Clay Morris, Jr., on August 21, 1954, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2016. Elaine worked as a farm wife alongside her husband on their farm. She was a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, and then transferred her membership to the Chillicothe United Methodist Church. Elaine enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, cross stitch, and scrolling Facebook. She served as a 4-H Club Leader and project leader. Elaine loved spending time with her family, and attending activities for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, David Morris and wife Cindy of Chillicothe, Missouri; two daughters, Cathy Daugherty and David Mitchell of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Lisa Dominique and husband Scott of Chillicothe, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Clark Morris, Clay Morris, Jennifer Horton and husband David, Adam Daugherty and wife Melanie, Katie Daugherty and David Waite, Megan Dominique, Hannah Dominique, and Bryce Dominique; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ora Clay Morris, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, January 30, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, Sunday, January 30, 2022, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Festival of Lights and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
