Eileen Estelle Fowler, age 91, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Eileen was born the daughter of Richard and Anna (Pavelka) Phelan on October 21, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a 1945 graduate of Incarnate Word Academy, St. Louis, Missouri. In 1960, Eileen and her family moved to Unionville, Missouri, where she co-owned the Sears Roebuck Catalog store and Dairy Lane with her husband, Ray Fowler, until 1980. She then moved to Chillicothe, Missouri, in 1980, where she worked as the Director of Activities and Social Services at Livingston Manor Care Center for many years. She also worked as the Director of Concerned Christians. Eileen was a member of the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. She was also a member of the St. Ann's Altar Society, and the Prayer Chain. Eileen loved the Oats Bus Drivers, the Meals on Wheels Delivery people, and Tom Selleck.
Survivors include one son, Dan Fowler and wife Susan of Harlan, Iowa; two grandchildren, Dr. Matthew Fowler and wife Andrea of Shawnee, Kansas, and Megan Heese and husband Sam of Exira, Iowa; and two great grandchildren, Joseph Heese and Elena Fowler. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Janet Fowler; and one sister, Marilyn Crump and husband Jack.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, June 1, 2020, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m., with a Parish Rosary to being at 6:00 p.m. and visitation to follow. Burial will be held at St. Columban Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Bishop Hogan Memorial School and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
