Edna Ilene Bruce, age 72, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at her residence.
Edna was born the daughter of Thomas and Clara (Bentley) Midgyett on October 27, 1947, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a 1965 graduate of Marceline High School. She was united in marriage to Robert Lee Bruce, Sr., on September 4, 1964, in Brookfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1996. Edna worked in customer service at the Bank First in Shawnee, Oklahoma, for 16 years. She loved thrift store shopping and interior decorating. She was a member of Souls Harbor Church of God.
Survivors include one son, David A. Bruce of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Teresa N. Bruce of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Yolanda Tubbs of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; one brother, Howard Midgyett and wife Helen, of Chillicothe, Missouri; and one sister, Gloria Midgyett of Chillicothe, Missouri. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Lee Bruce, Sr.; one son, Robert Lee Bruce, Jr.; seven brothers, Ray, Paul, Richard, Robert, Roy Lee, Martin, Clarence; and three sisters, Vivian Hutcherson, Nancy White, and Etta Mae Midgyett.
Funeral services will be held at the Souls Harbor Church of God, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, November 18, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Souls Harbor Church of God, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, November 18, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, November 17, 2019, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Meadville Cemetery, Meadville, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edna Bruce Memorial Fund and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
