Earl Edgar Lynn

February 17, 1928 — December 16, 2018

Earl Edgar Lynn
Earl Edgar Lynn, age 90, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, in Ray County, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018, at his residence.
Earl was born the son of Roy Earl and Gladys (Trone) Lynn on February 17, 1928, in Montrose, Colorado. He finished twelve years of schooling at Ballard High School, Ballard, Missouri, a few weeks prior to graduating. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in a Methodist Bible School in Laclede, Missouri, in his early teens. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until he was honorably discharged as Corporal in early 1953. Earl was united in marriage to Vera Jewel Riley on May 16, 1954, in Trenton, Missouri. She survives of the home. To this union three daughters were born.
Earl, his wife, and parents purchased a large farm near Braymer, Missouri, in 1957. They moved there in the spring of 1958. Earl and Vera were privileged to have a new house built on their farm in 1969. They moved into that home on January 1, 1970, where they still reside.
A favorite thing Earl enjoyed was hunting deer and elk in Colorado. He and his Missouri hunting buddies would join relatives and friends in the Montrose area for the fall hunt. He would say after numerous hunting trips through the years, "It wouldn't be far to Colorado, if we didn't have to cross Kansas."
Earl and his family introduced a breed of cattle on their farm ranch known as White Park, or British White. They proved to be a favorite breed, even over their milking stock. Paying for the land was difficult, due to low farm prices. Earl had a federal firearms business for several years. He traded and sold guns and ammo, sold Heritage Safes, and CB radios, all to supplement farm income. Earl and his family were blessed to enjoy being debt free in his later years.
Survivors include his wife, Vera, of the home; three daughters, Terry Burns and husband Ernie of Braymer, Missouri, Sherry Lynn of the home, and Jewelie Wilson of Braymer, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Carrie Sanders, Jared Burns, Kimberly Cline, Samantha Magcuder, Zachary Dines, Ezekiel Dines, Zebulynn Wilson, and Jedidiah Wilson; ten great grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Buehler of Kansas City, Kansas, June Holder of Terrell, Texas, and Jennie Umstattd of Butler, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lois Ruth Lynn; and one brother, Raymond Lynn.
