Earl Richard Benskin Earl Benskin, age 95, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013, at the North Missouri Baptist Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Earl was born the son of Charles Timothy and Belle Starr (Brannan) Benskin on February 18, 1918, in Grundy County. Earl graduated from Chillicothe High School, Chillicothe, Missouri, in 1936. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a 2nd Lt. While serving in the United States Army Air Corps he attended Army Air Corps Crew Chief School for two years. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hughes on August 7, 1942, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. Earl worked as a dairy farmer for 30 years. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe. Earl was a former member of the Union Baptist Church. While a member there he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher and superintendent. He was a former board member of the Chula COOP and the Chula School District. He enjoyed spending time with his family and farming the soil. Survivors include wife, Elizabeth, of the home; one son, Jerry Benskin and wife Alvina of Chillicothe, Missouri; three daughters, Carol Livingston and husband Jim of Milan, Missouri, Darlene Cervetti and husband Ray of Johnston, Iowa, and Sherry Benskin of Columbia, Missouri; one sister Lucille Bradford of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Russell; and two sisters, Opal Steen and Irene Boyd. Services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held in May Cemetery, Chula, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to May Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
