Dylis Charoline Hensley
Dylis Charoline Hensley, age 88, a resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at her residence.
Dylis was born the daughter of Joseph “Kenneth” and Katherine (Conger) Baker on October 2, 1935, in Brunswick, Missouri. She was a 1953 graduate of Hale High School. After graduating high school, she attended cosmetology school in Moberly, Missouri. Dylis was united in marriage to Wayne Monroe Hensley on July 5, 1953, in Hale, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2016. She owned and operated Dylis’ Beauty Shop in her home in Hale for 58 years. She was a member of the Hale Baptist Church, Hale, Missouri. Dylis enjoyed spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks, where she loved cooking for her friends and family. Dylis loved her faithful companion, Sassy, and spending her winters in Texas for the last 22 years. She was a supporter and leader of Hale Happy Hustlers 4-H Club, which her children and grandchildren were members of.
Survivors include three daughters, Karla Foster and husband, Randy, of Hale, Missouri, Ronda Long and husband, Ed, of Gravois Mills, Missouri, and Matha Moore and husband, Bruce, of Liberty, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Randall Foster and wife, Kelsey, Craig Foster, and wife, Cindy, Wade Foster, and wife, Callie, Bailey Moore, Jacob Moore, and wife, Rachel, Lydia Mueller and husband, Luke, and Michael Long and Kelsey; fifteen great grandchildren, Austin, Shelby, Aiden, and Briar Foster, Janie Foster, Easton and Ellie Foster, Briley Singleton and Bradee Moore, Lakota, Drake and Paisley Moore, Cole and Mariah Cruse, and Gracie and Jesse Gilman. She was also survived by two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Baker of Hale, Missouri, and Ann Frances Wilson of Liberty, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Monroe Hensley; brother and wife, Kenneth and Stella Baker; brother, Darrell Baker; brother-in-law, Russell Wilson; brothers-in-law and wives, Claude and Pat Hensley, and Ralph and Helen Hensley.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Burial will be held at Hale Memorial Gardens, Hale, Missouri.
