Dorothy Elaine Kirby Dorothy Kirby, age 77, a resident of Long Beach, California, former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, Long Beach, California. Dorothy was born the daughter of Edward Porter and Allie Leona (Woldridge) Lamb on September 17, 1935, in Trenton, Missouri. She was united in marriage to John Kirby on August 8, 1954, at the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. He survives of the home. They have been residents of Long Beach, California, for the past 58 years. She was a member of the Emmanuel Church of Lakewood, Lakewood, California. Her hobbies included, reading, collecting, cooking, and reading cookbooks. She loved spending time with her beloved husband. Dorothy never missed an opportunity to laugh or smile and she enjoyed a nice chat on the phone with family and friends. Survivors include husband, John Kirby, of the home; five nieces, Sheri Lester, of Long Beach, California, Gwenda Oneth, of Independence, Missouri, Cheryl Hecox, of Keokuk, Missouri, Debbie Kirby, of Taylor, Missouri, and Gayle Lynn Kirby, of Palmira, Missouri; and one nephew, Michael Kirby, of Palmira, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Lamb; mother, Allie Leona Rosson; step-father, John Rosson; and brother, Donald Eugene Lamb. Graveside service will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Friday, February 8, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, February 8, 2013 from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Feed The Children and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
