Dorothy "Dotty" (Hammond) Glidewell Dorothy "Dotty" (Hammond) Glidewell, age 68, a resident of Gallatin, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at her residence. Dotty was born the daughter of Donald Rex and Wanda (Boude) Wilson on June 6, 1947, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She attended Chillicothe Public Schools and graduated in the class of 1965. She attended and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor's degree in education. She worked as an educator in the Princeton and Moberly school districts teaching English, Spanish and Health. Dotty was a cheerleader throughout her high school and college years. As an educator, she was a cheerleading coach and sponsor of the Spanish club and Pep club. Upon retirement from teaching, she joined the Curves Community as an owner, mentor and area director. She was united in marriage to Ron Glidewell on December 28, 2013, in Gallatin, Missouri. He survives of the home. Dotty was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Princeton, Missouri. She was also a member of the Community Acting Guilds in Trenton and Princeton, Missouri, and the Princeton Jaycee Wives. After her retirement from Curves, she had her own deco-mesh wreath making business. Dotty had a passion for Christmas decorating and loved figure skating. She enjoyed traveling especially when employed by Curves. When she taught at Princeton, she enjoyed taking her high school students on trips to Europe and Mexico. Dotty was an amazing singer and performer. Survivors include husband, Ron of the home; mother, Wanda Sams of Chillicothe, Missouri; two sons, Jeff Hammond and wife Karen of Moberly, Missouri, and Kyle Hammond and wife Michelle of Kosciusko, Mississippi; one daughter, Jessica Collings and husband Michael of Kearney, Missouri; two step children, Robert Glidewell and wife Brenda of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Charady Glidewell of Gallatin, Missouri; three grandchildren, Randi Myers of Kearney, Missouri, Levi Myers and wife Ashley of Japan, and Mia Hammond of Jackson, Mississippi; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; one brother, Donald Lee Wilson of Hale, Missouri; one sister, Carol Snyder and husband Tim of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. A Memorial Service will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, November 1, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. A family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, November 1, 2015, one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
