Dorothy Jean Burnett was born in Salisbury MO on July 10, 1934. She was the youngest of nine children. Jeanne, as she was known, graduated in 1952 from high school and moved to Kansas City, MO where she worked as a secretary. She met her husband Charles Graham Burnett there and was married on June 18, 1954. They moved to Wichita Kansas in 1956. There they made their home and welcomed two children. Jeanne often said her most important role was being a mom. Fred (as he was known) and Jeanne traveled with their children and enjoyed the times they had together. Jeanne and Fred were married for 39 years until he passed from cancer in September of 1993. Jeanne continued to live in Wichita until she moved to Reno Nevada in August of 2014 to be with her daughter. Jeanne loved the mountians and flourished there. She joined a church and set out to make her sunset years her best years She was called home on November 19, 2022 where she now resides with her mother, father, siblings and husband. She is survived by her son Shane Burnett, daughter in law Cris and grandaughter Zoe of Olathe Kansas. Her daughter Paige and grandog Trixie (her best buddy). Nieces Anita, Celeste, Suzy (Tom) Nephew Jeff (Sarah). Great nieces Jennifer, Emily, Kyra. Great nephews Nate (Ashely) and Sam. Great great niece Genevieve and great great nephews Forrest and Xavier. She had a smile and laughter that lit up this world. She is now lighting up heaven as she is at rest with her Lord and Savior.
Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri, on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.lindleyfuneralhome.com .
