Dorothy Ruth Bingham Dorothy Ruth Bingham passed away at age 99 on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Carroll House, Carrollton, Missouri. She had returned to live in Avalon, Missouri at retirement. Dorothy was born the daughter of Floyd and Nellie (McDowell) Bowes on August 29, 1915, in Avalon, Missouri. She was a 1933 graduate of Avalon High School. She was united in marriage to Ralph Noel Bingham of Hale, Missouri in July of 1949. She and Ralph lived in Avalon, Brookfield and Kansas City. She became a certified EKG-EEG Medical Technician retiring from Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Dorothy cherished her beloved childhood Avalon farm, gardening, flowers, antique china, collecting sea shells and vintage green glass. Survivors include her son and daughter, Stephen R. Bingham (Kathryn) and Diane Bingham, both of Tampa, Florida; son, Carroll Bruce Dowell of Chillicothe, Missouri; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sister, Hilda Broyles of Hale, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; her beloved companion, Willard Broyles of Carroll House, Carrollton, Missouri. On behalf of their mother, Steve and Diane especially wish to thank her son' Bill Hussey (Pat) of Avalon, and her niece and our cousin, Tamara Shipp Neal (Jim) of Moberly, Missouri; and her nephew and our cousin, Darrell Houx of Chillicothe, for all of their loving and immeasurable support and care during these past difficult years. Grateful appreciation is also extended to the Carroll House staff members who provided her with superior care, respect and dignity in her last hours. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; son, Harold E. Davidson, Jr.; and brother, Francis "Spud" Bowes. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 11:30a.m. at the Avalon Cemetery, Avalon, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, the American Lung Association, PBS KCPT Kansas City and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
