Doris M. Shull, age 93, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010 in Liberty, Missouri. Mrs. Shull was born October 4, 1917, the daughter of Joy and Bessie (Owens) Miller at their farm home south of Tina, Missouri, and grew up in Hill Township west of Coloma. She attended college at CMSU in Warrensburg, Missouri and taught in rural schools in Carroll and Livingston counties for ten years. She was a former member of the First Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship at Brookfield, Missouri, the Linn County Christian Women's Fellowship and the Review Club in Brookfield, Missouri. She lived most of her life in and around Hale, Missouri, and was a current member of the First Baptist Church in Braymer, Missouri. She was a very active and avid member of the PEO Sisterhood and the Sunshine Neighbors Club of Hale, Missouri. She was a life member of the Carroll County Historical Society of which she was a past president, she was honored with a Life Membership by the Hale Parent-Teachers Association and was a member and past president of the Carroll County PTA during which time she organized a PTA at Wakenda, Missouri, and was an installing officer of Carrollton, Bogard, Tina-Avalon, Hale and Wakenda PTA's. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Dee Shull of Hale, Missouri and Bessie E. Lightfoot of Braymer, Missouri; 2 grandchildren, Betty Lynn Englert and Jerry of Hale, Missouri, and Trenneth (Trenni) Lightfoot and Wendy of Bogard, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Brian Englert and Melissa, Scott Englert and Kelley, all of Chillicothe, Missouri, Marcy Judy and Nathan of Hale, Missouri, and Cody Lightfoot of Bogard, Missouri; six great-great grandchildren, Andrew Englert, Myra Englert, Isabella Englert, Addison Englert, Cole Michele Judy and Ely Scott Judy; and Florence Owens of Johnson, Vermont and their siblings, Joseph Owens of Chesapeake, Virginia, Marsha Curtis of Johnson, Vermont, and Ralph Owens of Alabama and their spouses and families. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother William Elmo Miller; three husbands, Ottis Colliver, Carl C. "Mandy" Wilson, and Bill Shull; and two sons-in-law, Buddy Shull and Roy E. Lightfoot and foster brother, Homer Lee Owens. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held in the Coloma Cemetery, Tina, Missouri. There will be no scheduled family visitation.
