Doris Ruth Hendrix Doris Ruth Hendrix, age 87, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Hedrick Medical Center Chillicothe, Missouri. Doris was born the daughter of George and Beulah (Snow) Baxter on February 16, 1927 in Livingston County, Missouri. She graduated from Wheeling High School in 1945. She was united in marriage to Donald Hendrix on May 30, 1947, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1998. Doris worked for Churchill Truck Lines and retired from there on March 17, 1989, where she had worked for 28 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, and a member of the Chillicothe Culture Club, Jolly Janes, the Hospital Auxiliary, Red Hats and the RSVP. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and did some traveling. Survivors include two daughters Marlene Johnson and husband Kenny of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Marsha Cox and husband Donnie of Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister, Lucille Shrimpton and husband Robert of Ozark, Missouri; four grandchildren, Michelle Vinson and husband Robbie of Dawn, Missouri, Jeff Cox and wife Terria of Chillicothe, Missouri, Abby Sattman and husband Mike of Brookfield, Missouri, and Ashlee Taylor and husband Nick of Milan, Missouri; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; three sisters Cuma Mumpower, Merle Miller, and Barbara Owen; two brothers, Eugene Baxter and Russell Baxter; and great-grandson Bradley Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Lindley Funeral Home Chillicothe, Missouri. A scheduled family visitation will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lindley Funeral Home Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home Chillicothe, Missouri on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 12 Noon until 8:00 PM. Burial will be at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church and/or the Tina Mapel Memorial Dog Park Fund and may be left at or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home P.O.
