Doris Maxine Cox Doris Maxine Cox, age 87, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Indian Hills - A Stonebridge Community, Chillicothe, Missouri. Doris was born the daughter of Terah and Eva (Spainhour) Ireland on August 29, 1929, in Chula, Missouri. She was a 1947 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She was united into marriage to William Earl Cox on July 17, 1948, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He survives of the home. Doris worked as a cook at Dewey School for the Chillicothe School District for 13 years. She was a member of the Livingston County Steam and Gas Association, Chillicothe Campers, Vern R. Glick Post 25 ladies Auxiliary, Peppy Promenaders, and the Chillicothe Garden Club. She was also a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Survivors include her husband, Earl Cox; two sons, Randy Cox and wife Carolyn of Kirksville, Missouri, Terry Cox and wife Sheryl of Odessa, Missouri; one daughter, Marilyn Brown and husband Charles of Ozark, Missouri; two brothers, Loyal Ireland of Ukiah, California, and Jim Ireland of Merriam, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Dorothy Koehly and Sister-in-law Karen Ireland. Graveside services will be held at Plainview Cemetery, Chula, Missouri, on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on August 12, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on August 12, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
