Donald Russell Young

Donald Russell Young, age 89, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Donald was born the son of Harry A. and Ola Mae (Stewart) Young on March 9, 1922, in Livingston County, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Fleeta P. Long on August 6, 1943, in Midland Texas. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2009. He was a member of the United States Air Force during World War II, from 1942-1945. He was a self-employed farmer. Donald was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and in the Young at Heart Club, the Vern R. Glick American Legion Post #25 of Chillicothe, and the Chillicothe R.S.V.P. He was also a charter member of the Livingston County Men's Democratic Club as well as a Livingston Democrat committee member. Survivors include four daughters, Donna Reeter and husband Vernon of Chillicothe, Missouri, Lois Akers of Chillicothe, Missouri, Beverly Nichols and husband Eddie of Austin, Texas, and Aimee and husband Robbie Bristow of Fulton, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Fleeta; and one brother Forrest Young. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. A family visitation will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
