Donald Elbert Sprouse Donald Elbert Sprouse, age 101, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Cameron Regional Medical Center, Cameron, Missouri. Don was born the son of GW (Wib) and Lillie (Kleeman) Sprouse on July 25, 1912, in Braymer, Missouri. He received his education at Braymer High School, from which he graduated in 1930. Don embarked upon a new and exciting chapter in his life when he married his beloved wife Thelma Lucile (Chase) Sprouse, a kind and loving woman who enjoyed every moment of his company until her departure from this world on October 19, 2010. He was a proud father and caring husband, he provided a safe and secure future for his loved ones as a farmer, rural mail carrier, stellar employee of Consumers Oil and Supply Company, and owner of Gambles Store for six years and Stampers Plane for one year. Don compiled an enviable list of service to the Braymer community through his support of the Fairview Township Board, 4-H program, County FFA Board, County ASC Board, County Selective Service Board, Masonic Lodge, Phares Cemetery Board, and Proctorville Methodist Church. He was an avid gardener who has planted nearly 1,000 gladiolus bulbs which he shared with neighbors, church members, and the local nursing home. Don was blessed with the love and admiration from his four daughters, Donna Rickman and husband Jon of Maryville, Missouri, Martha Ripple of California, Missouri, Audrey Sprouse of Braymer, Missouri, and Cheryl Watson and husband Art of Macon, Illinois; six grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Survivors also include one sister Harriet Fortel of Blue Springs, Missouri; and one sister-in-law Alma Audrey Schumacher of Cameron, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Thelma Sprouse; granddaughter Aimee Couste; brother John Sprouse; and son-in-law Scott Ripple. Services will be held at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Sunday, June 15, 2014, one hour prior to the service from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Saturday, June 14, 2014, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Phares Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri.
