Donald Lee Overton
Donald Lee Overton, age 80, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at his daughter's residence.
Don was born the son of Henry and Hattie (Foster) Overton on March 8, 1941, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1960 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He served in the Missouri National Guard from 1964 until 1970. He was united in marriage to Sharon Fitzpatrick on April 10, 1966, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. Don owned and operated Overton Motor Sales in Chillicothe, Missouri, for 60 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Don was a paid by call firefighter for over 40 years for the Chillicothe Fire Department. He was a member of the Chillicothe Elks Lodge #656. He served on the Planning and Zoning Board from 2005 until 2016, and on the Board of Adjustments from 2008 until 2016. Don enjoyed going to Thomas Hill Lake, and visiting with friends at his shop and later his garage.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Overton of the home; two daughters, Marla Felton and husband Larry of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Chantel Hayes and Jason Gault of Chillicothe, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Brooklin Zimmerman and husband Zack of Omaha, Nebraska, Bryce Baker of Chillicothe, Missouri, Bradley Baker and wife Erica of Braymer, Missouri, Garith Felton of Chillicothe, Missouri, Olivia Hayes of Dawn, Missouri, Preston Hayes of Maryville, Missouri, and Dalton Hayes of Chillicothe, Missouri; and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
