Donald R. Hopper, age 80, a resident of Chula, Missouri passed away at his residence on Monday, April 26, 2010. He was born on December 25, 1929 in Arthur, Illinois the son of Virgil and Edith (Reynolds) Hopper. He was a 1948 graduate of Villa Grove High School in Villa Grove, Illinois. He served in the United States Army from 1951 until 1953 stationed in France. On May 5, 1957 he married Lois Fay Green in Pesotum, Illinois. She survives of the home. Donald moved to this area in 1972 from Camargo, Illinois. He was a farmer and the owner of a mowing business for many years. He attended member of the Cornerstone Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. He enjoyed carpentry and farming. He is also survived by two sons, Daniel Robert Hopper and wife Marsha of Hockley, Texas, Tim Hopper and wife Shirley of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Phyllis Reynolds and husband Charles of California, Missouri; one brother, Lyle Hopper of Bonham, Texas; two sisters, Vera Lee Maase and husband Donald of Savoy, Illinois, Ruth Emberton and husband Bob of Marshall, Illinois; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several step grandchildren. Services will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri at 10:00 a.m. There will be a family visitation on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Stucker Cemetery in Laredo, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ellis Fischel Cancer Clinic and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
