Donald Hess

Donald Hess, age 81, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015, at his residence. Donald was born the son of Jeff Lee and Minta (Crutchfield) Hess on January 21, 1934, in Moberly, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Martha Summers on September 15, 1981, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death on July 5, 1999. Donald worked for Glen and Gary Brick for several years. He was a member of the Chillicothe Eagles Aerie No. 2428. Survivors include one son, Jim Barnhart and wife Nina of Kansas City, Missouri; three daughters, Michelle "Misty" Scott and husband Wayne "Buckie" of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Kay Shuey and husband Bud of Eagle Rock, Missouri, and Linda Wright of Texas; fourteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; one brother, Roy Hess of Moberly, Missouri; three sisters, Patsy Myers of Moberly, Missouri, Kay Hendricks of Moberly, Missouri, and Kathy Spinney of Moberly, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Martha Hess; one son, Jack Hess; one daughter, Pam Ireland; two sisters, Elma Kirkendoll and Vena Webb; and three brothers, Jimmy Hess, Bobby Hess and Jerry Hess. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
