Dolores Irene (Pedie) Way Dolores Irene (Pedie) Way, age 85, a resident of Kearney, Missouri, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Oak Pointe of Kearney, Kearney, Missouri. Dolores was born the only child of William (Bill) and Elizabeth Irene (Dupy) Gorman on October 8, 1931, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a 1949 graduate of Chillicothe High School, and St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing as an RN in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1952. On October 26, 1952, she was united in marriage to Jack Porter Way in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2000. She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, where she was active in the Women's Guild. She was also a member of the American Nurses Association, Operating Room Nurses, Vestry member numerous times, past member of Tria Sorosis, Green Hills Chapter Master Gardeners, and R.S.V.P. Dolores enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable garden, and hand quilting. She held the title of Keeper of the Parish Gardeners. In 2006, she was recognized for her faithful service to her community, the church, and the Diocese of West Missouri, and was awarded The Bishop Shield. Survivors include six children, Kevin Way and wife Rebecca of Parkville, Missouri, Timothy Way and wife Lori of Parkville, Missouri, Mitchell Way and wife Georgia of Cowgill, Missouri, Stephen Way and wife Deborah of Parkville, Missouri, Andrew Way and wife De Nae of Liberty, Missouri, and Debra Johnson and husband Robert of Kearney, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Sarah, Seth, Natalie, William, Gregory, Quentin, Derrick, Courtney, Lauren, Tyler, Anna, and Alex; two step grandchildren, Brook and Abby; eight great grandchildren, Jaxon, Lily, Noah, Kaesyn, Samuel, Colin, Kevin Eli; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Jack. Funeral services will be held at the Grace Episcopal Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
