Diane Marie Hicks, age 62, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Diane was born the daughter of Hugh and Delores Marie (Feeney) Cook on December 15, 1959, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a 1978 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She then attended North Central Missouri College, graduating as Valedictorian, earning her nursing degree. Diane was united in marriage to David Hicks on March 23, 1979, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He survives of the home. She worked as a Registered Nurse for Hedrick Medical Center for 34 years. She was a member of St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Diane loved the beach and vacationing. Most of all, Diane loved spending time with her family, especially the love of her life, her granddaughter, Macey.
Survivors include her husband, David Hicks of the home; three sons, Jeremy Hicks and wife Kara, Joshua Hicks, and Jacob Hicks, all of Chillicothe, Missouri; one granddaughter, Macey Hicks; two brothers, William B. DeVaul, Jr. of Clinton Township, Michigan, and David DeVaul of Lee's Summit, Missouri; two sisters, Karen Surber and husband Jerry of Wheeling, Missouri, and Theresa DeVaul of Kansas City, Missouri; and nephew, Nick DeVaul and wife Mandie, and their children, Alexis, Autumn, Braxton, and Harper DeVaul. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, William "Bill" DeVaul; and one sister, Beverly Webb.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
