Delores Marie DeVaul Delores Marie DeVaul, age 84, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, surrounded by her family. Delores was born the daughter of Raymond E. and Alice Mary (Stapleton) Feeney on October 14, 1933, in Wheeling, Missouri. She was a 1951 graduate of Wheeling High School. She was united in marriage to Hugh Cook on October 10, 1953. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1978. She was then united in marriage to William B. "Bill" DeVaul on February 3, 1980. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2000. Delores worked for Citizens Bank and Trust, and as an insurance adjuster for MFA Insurance. She was also the bookkeeper for the family business, DeVaul's Bulldozing. Delores was a devoted catholic with a strong faith. She was a member of St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, and the St. Ann's Altar Society, where she coordinated the bereavement dinners for many years. Delores enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandsons in various sports. She lovingly enjoyed cooking meals for family and friends and preparing special holiday meals for her family. She was an avid quilter, who over the years made a special quilt for each of her children and grandchildren. Delores enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bill, to many interesting destinations. Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Webb of Overland Park, Kansas, and Diane Hicks and husband David of Chillicothe, Missouri; two stepsons, William B. DeVaul, Jr., of Clinton Township, Michigan, and David DeVaul of Lee's Summit, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Karen Surber and husband Jerry of Wheeling, Missouri, and Theresa DeVaul of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jeremy and wife Kara, Joshua, and Jacob Hicks, and Nicholas DeVaul and wife Mandie; four great grandchildren, Macey Hicks, Alexis, Autumn, and Braxton DeVaul; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Feeney of Chillicothe, Missouri, Linda Kimmis and husband Bob of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Sandra Gallentine and Duane of Luck, Wisconsin; one brother-in-law, Robert James DeVaul, Jr. of Hamilton, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Hugh; second husband, William; sister, Mary Elizabeth Feeney; brother, William "Bill" Feeney; and four sisters-in-law, Mary DeVaul, Bonnie Mae Poolman, Julia Ann Doss, and Vera Hughes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, October 1, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, October 1, 2018, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri.
