Delores "Dee" Irene (Lee) Johnson
Delores "Dee" Irene (Lee) Johnson, age 70, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
Dee was born the daughter of Paul and Othiel (Kimberling) Lee on October 23, 1950, in Jamesport, Missouri. Most of her early years were spent in Chillicothe, but she graduated from Trenton High School in 1968. She was united in marriage to Steven Douglas Johnson on April 26, 1975, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He survives of the home. Their entire married life was spent in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Dee was a longtime employee of Churchill Truck Lines, until they closed. She then worked at Citizens Bank and Trust for 13 ½ years. In these last years, Dee was a devoted volunteer in different areas. She was active at the Grand River Multi-Purpose Center, and was on the board of Area Active Aging, from which she was a Provide-A-Ride Driver. Dee was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she served as a bible study leader.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Johnson of the home; two daughters, Tish (Morrill) Anderson of Hollywood, Florida, and Christina "Tina" Michelle (Morrill) Whitlock and husband Jim of St. Charles, Missouri; one son, Steven Matthew Johnson and wife Lisa of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Clint Anderson and wife Stefani of Chillicothe, Missouri, Abbi Anderson of Chillicothe, Missouri, Matthew Morrill, Kaydee Whitlock, and Codi Whitlock all of St. Charles, Missouri, and Morgan and Jackson Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri; three great grandchildren, Brody and Bristol Anderson and Braxton Poese of Chillicothe, Missouri; one brother, Roger Lee and wife Darlene of Chillicothe, Missouri; two sisters, Flora (Sharp) Hanks and husband John of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Judy Lee of Dawn, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Fern Singleton; one brother, Olen Lee; and one infant brother, David Nathaniel Lee.
Funeral services will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, January 1, 2021, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
