DeLois I. Kesler, age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Excelsior Springs Medical Center, Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
DeLois was born the daughter of Vernon and Fern (Graham) Kilburn on March 28, 1927, in Livingston County, Missouri. She was a graduate of Wheeling High School.  She then earned her teaching certificate from Kirksville State Teachers College. DeLois was united in marriage to Orval H. Kesler on June 22, 1947, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1999.  She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. DeLois enjoyed decorating cakes, and was a wedding caterer for many years. She loved quilting, gardening, and taking care of her flowers. Most of all, DeLois loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Sally Wood and husband Paul of Lawson, Missouri, and Janet McLain and husband Gene of Meadville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Michael Wood and wife Leslie, Jonathan Wood, and Dr. Jennifer McLain-Link, DVM, and husband Greg; six great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orval; one grandson, Matthew McLain; two sisters, Doris Phillips and Letha Engleman; and two brothers, Jimmy and Loyd Kilburn.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, May 23, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, May 23, 2021, one hour prior to the service at 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, May 22, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
